Site Survey & Subfloor Assessment. A detailed site survey measures falls, load-bearing capacity, and moisture readings across the slab. Subfloor preparation is treated as a primary deliverable: no travertine installation proceeds over a substrate that does not meet flatness and dryness tolerances.
Material Preparation & Layout Planning. Slabs are dry-laid and graded for tonal consistency prior to adhesive application. Travertine’s natural variation demands careful sequencing to avoid colour banding across large floor planes.
Installation. Premium-grade stone adhesive is applied to specification; slabs are set to agreed joint tolerances and levelled using precision clip systems. Filled-and-honed surfaces require exact adhesive management to prevent bleed into the honed face.
Quality Sign-Off & Sealing. On completion, the installed floor is inspected against the specification drawing. A penetrating stone sealer appropriate to the use intensity — residential, hospitality, or diplomatic — is applied, and the client receives a full installation record.
